COST OPINION
Understanding the costs for implementing the
changes proposed in this plan is important for
PRCS so funding can be aligned to priority efforts
in the coming years. It is anticipated that the capital
improvements in this plan could be made over 1015 years, although it is unlikely that all projects can
be funded in that timeline without a significant
funding source.
For many municipalities in Southern California,
including Culver City, costs for capital improvements
and operations and maintenance have risen
significantly in recent years. These increases are
partly due to overall increases in the cost of living,
the COVID-19 Pandemic, and competition for
construction or maintenance services. It is expected
that some of these trends will continue, causing
escalation and the need for the PRCS budget to
continue to grow.
